What a difference a year makes......

I mean really....

Let's take a look at them, shall we??

Kaleigh went from a junior in high school, wearing braces (sorry, Kaleigh...I had to) to a young woman getting ready to leave for college and finally fulfilling her lifelong dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Karissa's ordeal with RSD/CRPS began exactly one year ago, and at the time of that picture, not only was her diagnosis uncertain, but so was everything about her future.  Just looking at that picture brings me to tears.....and then seeing how far God has brought her makes me so happy!!

Is it gone?  No.  Does she still deal with it?  Yes.  But just look at her....she has successfully made it through another year at school, is working a job, has competed in a pageant, and enjoyed her junior prom.  God.  Is.  Good.

And I didn't think it was possible to change as much as Destin has in a year, but it has truly been remarkable.  He has literally grown about 6 inches, gained 20 pounds, grown a coveted-by-his-peers-mustache, and is about to begin middle school in the fall.

Meanwhile, Jack, the toothless wonder from last year, is about to finish 2nd grade, is reading on a 5th-6th grade level and in the words of his teacher, "There are so many adjectives to describe Jack. He is just a little man in a boy’s body!"

And yes....the toothless days are gone and have been replaced with the inevitable "new teeth". :-)

You know....a year ago, I posted How Does Your Garden Grow, having no idea how much that boy would grow!!!!

Ummm...yes....he is only eleven.
There are a lot of changes happening in my life right now...some of them wonderful, and others that are making me sad.  (I can almost hear Pomp & Circumstance now.

Sniffle.

But one thing I am sure of, is that I serve a God that is the same yesterday, today and forever, and that brings me so much comfort when it feels like life is flying right past me.

None of us know what this next year holds for us....or what tomorrow holds for that matter....but we do know who holds our future.  And for that, I am forever grateful.

And now I will close before I get too sappy....

I'm just sayin'.
